Ps3/Xbox. Recommendations?

Yeah! After 15 years with only a gameboy color I’m finally getting something new (hallelujah!).

Anyway I was wondering what you guys thought; should I get an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3? (or maybe something else?)

What would you say are the ups and downs of the two and which do you prefer? Is there a specific model that you think is better? (We’re a little tight on money so nothing too super-extravagant)

Also it would be great if you could give me some of your favorite games.

Thanks!

Lets start with the Xbox 360:

If you are tight on money, I suggest you purchase the Xbox 360 Arcade. Which costs 199 dollars. It does NOT come with a hardrive, it comes with a smaller memory card. Sooner or later, you will probably definatly have to buy a hardrive.

The Xbox 360 has a 50 percent failure rate. This means, that basically, they are gaurenteed to break. My Xbox broke in 2 years, I got it fixed. It broke again. I was horribly mad at Microsoft.

Favorite games: Halo, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Assassin’s Creed, Fable 2

    Now to the PS3:

I currenty have a PS3, and it’s a hell of a lot more reliable then the Xbox ever was.

At 299 dollars, you can purchase a PS3 Slim. It comes with a 120 hardrive, the console, cords, and a controller.

The PS3’s only have a 2 percent failure rate, so it’s SO much better then the 360, as terms of hardware.

    It also includes blue-ray.

Favorite games: Assassin’s Creed, Uncharted 2, Metal Gear Solid 4

  2. There’s not a lot of difference between the XBox and PS3. It probably comes down to which games you like best because there are some games that you can only get on one or the other. Why don’t you rent one first for a week or 2 and see which you prefer before you buy?

I have a PS3 and I do like it but I think Xbox is cheaper and I’ve heard you can use it as a media hub if you have a wireless network so you can watch movies etc off your computer through the X-Box on your TV. As far as I know you can’t do that with the PS3. One PS3 advantage is that it’s also a Blu-Ray movie player whereas I don’t think X-Box plays those.

  3. i dont have either of these, but i have heard that the playstation 3 offers more such as buying movies or just renting them. they also have a wide variety of games that you could choose. although it is a little bit more expensive, i think it is definately worth it.

  4. PS3! preferbly 80GB old skool edition.

I have it and it hasnt messed up at all. and its been 1 yr

PS3= free online play, rent movies, manage music, blu ray player, internet browser, video and pic manager, top of the line games, unlimited hours of entertainment.

    More reliable then X-box
