  1. i had a master system when i was a kid and r-type was by far my favorite game on the system. i was able to finish it after months trying to get past that impossible level 7 (don't even imagine my face of horror when i discovered i had to replay all the levels again at a higher difficulty level to really get to the ending).
this is still the old school game i revisit the most. it's just amazing. i'm playing the psone port on my psp right now, and it's even harder than the master system version. anyway, it saddens me to see a big part of the new generation of gamers having to have things like this infinite mode to make the game "approachable" for them. this just takes 99.9% of the fun away. other than that, this remix looks incredible, i loved the redesign in graphics while retaining the level design untouched, awesome port!

  2. NEED R-TYPE DIMENSIONS ON PC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. I completed R-Type 1 on the MasterSystem when I was a kid.  We had no internet back then so I had no idea it was supposed to be one of the hardest games ever.  I feel quite pleased with myself ;-P

  4. One of my top 3 favorite shooters of all time. Any version of R-type is a great time.
Also check out: R-Type Leo (arcade) &  R-type Delta (PS1)

  5. haven't played an r-type game since r-type final.  looks awesome!  might have to pick this up.

  6. There's nothing like using a pc engine control pad with the turbo buttons for games like this.

  7. While shmups are not where my skills lay, I used to adore playing the first R-Type on my TG-16. I still have my PSN copy of the PS1"R-Types", but I think I will check this out.

  8. Hello blister thumbs !! I wasn't expecting this shoot'em up to hit the psn.Since it was a xbal exclusive for so long now.To bad r-type dimensions, couldn't have included r-type leo as well that's one that never had a port.
