HDMI to VGA CABLE FOR PS3 PLEASE HELP?

ok so i ordered this

my monitor is DELL E156FPC

ok so i want to connect my ps3 to that monitor i bought a vga to hdmi cable from ebay. so i want to know if i can play games on that monitor with the vga to hdmi cable. my monitor only has one port and that is a vga. PLEASE ANSWER PLEASE PLEASE S TO BEST ONE

  1. No, I don’t think it will work.

    Its only gonna work if the PS3 and/or the monitor is capable of converting the signal from digital to analog since HDMI is digital and VGA is analog. I’m not sure if the PS3 converts the HDMI signal to analog if its going to a VGA input nor do I know if you monitor is capable of this. This is why you’re supposed to use a converter box in this situation to convert the signal and not just an ordinary cable. If neither device is capable of converting the signal, then the monitor won’t display the PS3 video. And that’s definitely not gonna give you a quality HD picture if that’s what you’re thinking.

    You should’ve just gotten a VGA to RCA adapter.
