What exactly does the Super-White setting on the PS3 do?

Ok, It’s clear to me what turning full RGB on does, but what happens exactly when you turn Super-White on? people have told me that it illuminates environments in games, others told me that it takes away the “washed out” areas in games, and others have told me it only applies in Blu-Ray movies, not games. What is the real deal with this setting?

  1. The “Super-White” feature presents deeper black levels and brighter whites during video (not game) playback with TV’s that support Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr signals via HDMI.

If your TV does not support Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr signals via HDMI the option will do nothing, so you are safe to turn it on.
